July 2010/ December 2009 – February 2010

Cross peninsula trek and journey through one the world’s most culturally diverse and least explored country.

The 20 minute documentary, “Betelnut Bliss,” shot by Alicia Sully and edited by Sofie Rordam at Mirror Studios, was presented in numerous villages on the second expedition.  Additional footage was collected on both the betelnut story and the ongoing unsung heroes episodes. Another expedition is being planned for December 2011.

June – September 2009

The launch of What Took You So Long Foundation began with this idea and developed with this expedition. The team traveled across the Africa continent overland from Morocco to South Africa by local transport.

Jessica Sherell photographed the first part of the journey and her photos are featured throughout this website. Evan wrote blogs and directed the  Video profiles of each NGO hosting the team along the way. Ending up in South Africa Evan and Alicia (shooting and editing) stayed to work on the documentary. The work continued months later in Hong Kong at Mirror Studios with Sebastian Lindstrom and a team of interns. A Kickstarter project helped support WTYSL to finish editing. In the fall of 2010 the documentary was toured throughout universities in the USA and Europe.
