WTYSL is in the process of teaming up with different channel’s that will be able to mobilize various skilled and unskilled volunteers to the organizations we support. Volontarresor, Sweden’s top volunteer recruiting organization, sends off more than twice as many volunteers as its closest competitor. Currently they operate in more than 15 countries; expected volunteer output from Sweden for 2009 is 800; in 2010 they expect to send off over 1000 volunteers.
Spreading awareness in a diversified portfolio of networks and channels is fundamental for our ability to create positive change; WTYSL will post blog posts from this summer’s expedition down the face of Africa on Volontarresor’s website as a part of our marketing strategy.
For more information about Voluntarresor, please visit the English section of their website at http://volontarresor.se/aboutcompany.asp

Why Your Company Should Get Involved:

1. Connect to an organization that appeals to young, passionate and adventurous people around the world.

The What Took You So Long Foundation brings intrepid foreigners to distant areas of Africa to team up with non-profit civil society leaders on their local projects. The type of personality that undertakes such adventurous philanthropy is the same type that may prove beneficial to your organization, whether creatively, functionally or socially.

2. An ideal CSR project to present to stakeholders.

The global yet fiercely local focus of the WTYSL Foundation is an ideal selling point for budgeting matters.

3. Opportunity for project branding.

We have no shame. We will promote your brand as required and our enthusiasm and appreciation will ensure its wide visibility.

4. Opportunities for personal development.

Come with us! We host corporate sponsors for legs of the trip, whether it be an extended stay working with a single aid organization or a multi-country trek through the continent.

5. Support Grassroot NGOs.

The ultimate reason to support What Took You So Long is to support the NGOs along the way. You can specify that gifts be donated to specific organizations (see our NGO page here) or direct the gifts to these groups without contacting us at all. As specified here, 90% of all donations to us are rerouted directly to the organizations we support.

The money raised will contribute to the fund that will support the organizations we will visit and work with on our African expedition this summer.

Corporate sponsorship packages are available. You can sponsor a variety of projects, specific NGOs or particular stages of our expedition.

Selon Titan Industries: “We believe that Corporate Social Responsibility is not an externalized activity nor is it only philanthropy. It is an internal process reflecting the soul of the Company.”

The WTYSL Foundation concurs; joining forces with a charitable organization should be an ideal mix of internal and external influences. Our organization specifically outputs goodwill to cross-border NGOs and international cooperation. The What Took You So Long is not only present in any one country, while developing NGOs in each country it works in.

5% of financial donations will cover the running costs of the Foundation. A further 5% is compacted for future. The rest of the donation is disbursed as needed to targetted foundations along the way. Any preference in funding availability will be wholly respected.

Please consider a donation in the currency of your choice at an amount appropriate to your corporate environment. Most donations have been in the US$50 – US$100 range.

Best regards,

We are glad that we found the first and very fundamental sponsor for our project: Zimtkorn AG of Zurich, Switzerland. The young and driven internet solutions company sponsors our webhosting package and supports us with advice as well as manpower for the creation, customization and maintenance of our website. Their experience is particularly relevant to us adventurers because they supported the panmundo project in the past. We are very grateful for the expertise and services they add to our project.

Zimtkorn offers, among others, intranet and extranet solutions, e-commerce applications and social network (Web 2.0) solutions. Their core competency is strategy and technology and they are specialized in consulting, planning, development and guidance of Internet and software development projects.
